What to visit?
History
The first recorded mention of Žetale, then a small rural settlement, dates back to the 13th century.
The Church of St. Michael was first documented, becoming a spiritual center for the area.
Revolutions of 1848 and the abolition of feudalism led to significant land reforms, impacting local agriculture.
After World War I, Žetale became part of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes (later Yugoslavia).
During World War II, the region was occupied by Axis forces, with local resistance playing a role in the partisan movement.
Slovenia declared independence, and Žetale became part of the new sovereign nation.
Žetale was established as an independent municipality, strengthening local governance and cultural identity.
