What to visit?
History
The area of present-day Rogašovci was settled in prehistoric times, as evidenced by archaeological finds from the late Bronze and early Iron Age.
During the early Middle Ages, the region was influenced by the Frankish Empire and later integrated into the Kingdom of Hungary, shaping its cultural and linguistic heritage.
Rogašovci is first mentioned in written records, marking its emergence as a distinct settlement.
Following the Battle of Mohács, the region came under Habsburg rule, experiencing increased settlement and development.
After World War I, the Treaty of Trianon transferred Prekmurje, including Rogašovci, from Hungary to the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes (later Yugoslavia).
During World War II, the region was annexed by Hungary, resulting in significant upheaval for the local population.
Post-war, Rogašovci was reintegrated into Yugoslavia, with Prekmurje regaining its Slovene identity.
