History
The region forms part of the ancient Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom, one of East Africa’s most powerful kingdoms.
Kibaale comes under British colonial rule as part of the Uganda Protectorate, influencing administrative and land policies.
Uganda gains independence, and Kibaale becomes part of the new nation, retaining strong links to the Bunyoro Kingdom.
Kibaale District is officially established, carved out from the larger Hoima District to improve local governance.
