History
Phichit is believed to have been founded in the 11th century during the Sukhothai period, serving as an important settlement along the Nan River.
Wat Pho Prathap Chang, one of Phichit's most significant temples, was constructed in the late 17th century by King Luang Sorasak (Tiger King) of Ayutthaya.
