History
Rayong developed as a small fishing and trading port during the Ayutthaya Kingdom, serving as an outpost for commerce and migration.
After the fall of Ayutthaya to the Burmese, King Taksin the Great regrouped his forces in Rayong before launching the campaign to expel the invaders and reunite Siam.
