What to visit?
History
Archaeological finds suggest Bronze Age communities settled in the Red River Delta region, including what is now Vĩnh Phúc, laying the foundation for early Vietnamese civilization.
The area was part of the territory ruled by King Lý Nam Đế during the early period of Vietnamese independence from Chinese rule.
Vĩnh Phúc was established as a formal administrative unit under French colonial administration.
Following the August Revolution, Vĩnh Phúc played a role in supporting the Viet Minh’s efforts during the First Indochina War.

Vĩnh Phúc and Phú Thọ were merged to form Vĩnh Phú Province, a union that lasted until 1996.
