Liboke de Poisson

Chikwangue

Mbika Soup

Saka-saka

What to visit?
History
The Ubangi region is inhabited by Bantu-speaking peoples, who establish agricultural and fishing communities along the river.
The area becomes part of King Leopold II’s Congo Free State during the colonial partition of Africa.
Belgium annexes the Congo Free State, incorporating Nord-Ubangi into the Belgian Congo.
DRC gains independence; Nord-Ubangi becomes part of the larger Équateur Province.
Mobutu Sese Seko, born in the region, becomes president and later builds a lavish palace in Gbadolite.
Mobutu is ousted from power and his palace in Gbadolite is abandoned, marking an end to his era.
