Storia
The earliest record of Huseby dates back to 1419, originally known as Hosaby, situated by the Helige å river between lakes Salen and Åsnen.
In the early 1600s, Carl Carlsson Gyllenhielm established an ironworks here, with documented iron smelting from 1629.
The estate prospered under various noble families, including the Sture and Sparre families, and later the Hamilton counts who expanded the estate in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Ownership passed through several hands due to political and economic changes, including confiscations and reductions by the crown.
The ironworks ceased operations in the 19th century, and the estate has since been preserved as a historical site.
