Westhove Castle has a rich history involving nobility and significant historical events in Zeeland, including visits by important figures such as Emperor Charles V and Prince William V.
The orangery was constructed during the ownership of Jacoba van den Brandde and her husband Johan Adriaan van de Perre in the 18th century.
In 2004, the Zeeuws Biologisch Museum was taken over by Het Zeeuwse Landschap and transformed into Terra Maris, focusing on the natural and cultural heritage of Zeeland.
