History
The Royal Armored Corps, featured in the museum, was originally established as the Federation Regiment and Armored Regiment on September 1, 1952.
It underwent several name changes: to the Federation Reconnaissance Regiment in 1960, then to the Malaysian Reconnaissance Corps in 1967 coinciding with Malaysia's formation.
In 1979, it was renamed the Royal Reconnaissance Corps and later the Royal Cavalry Corps in December of the same year.
Finally, in 1986, it became the Royal Armored Corps.
The regiment played significant roles during the Malayan Emergency, the Malaysia-Indonesia Confrontation, and the May 13, 1969 tragedy.
