History
The construction of Replot Bridge began with the laying of its cornerstone on June 3, 1996, and it was officially opened to traffic by President Martti Ahtisaari on August 27, 1997.
It was built to replace the previous ferry service connecting Replot Island to the mainland.
The bridge was designed by the Oulu-based SuunnitteluKortes design office and cost approximately 150 million Finnish marks (around 25 million euros).
Over the decades since its opening, it has remained Finland's longest bridge, symbolizing significant infrastructural progress in the region.
