The Central Market of Valencia was initiated in 1914 by architects Francesc Guàrdia i Vial and Alexandre Soler i March, both influenced by the modernist movement and collaborators of Domènech i Montaner.
After some design modifications and changes in leadership, the project was completed in 1928 under architects Enrique Viedma Vidal and Ángel Romaní Verdeguer.
The market has since been a central feature of Valencia's urban and commercial life, symbolizing the city's economic vitality and cultural identity.
