Tõstamaa Manor, first mentioned in 1553, is a significant historic estate located in Pärnumaa, southwestern Estonia. The manor's two-storey Early-Classical main building was constructed in 1804 during the Helmersen family's ownership and later extensively renovated in the 19th century by Wilhelm Fromhold Staël von Holstein in a historicist style, including the addition of six Ionic columns and arched windows. In 1997, restoration uncovered several original painted ceilings that add to the manor's artistic value. The estate was dispossessed in 1919, and since 1921, the main building has housed Tõstamaa Keskkool (a local school). Since 2016, it also hosts the Tõstamaa Museum and a permanent exhibition of reproductions of paintings by the renowned artist and philosopher Nikolai Roerich. The manor complex originally included over 60 buildings, including stables and coach houses, surrounded by a picturesque park. The manor is also notable as the childhood home of the famous orientalist Alexander von Staël-Holstein. Today, Tõstamaa Manor serves as a cultural hub, hosting theatrical performances such as the annual Tõstamaa Summer Theatre, enriching visitors' experience with local history and arts.
