Autostadt is a multifaceted visitor attraction located next to the Volkswagen factory in Wolfsburg, Germany. It serves as a delivery center for new cars, a museum, and a leisure park focused on the Volkswagen Group's extensive brand portfolio, including Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, Škoda, and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. The site spans 28 hectares and features contemporary architecture and landscape design, making it one of the larger German leisure parks by area. Opened in 2000 as part of Expo 2000 in Hannover, Autostadt was conceived to modernize the presentation of Volkswagen and its brands to visitors and customers. Besides showcasing historic and current models, the site offers immersive experiences such as art installations, including Olafur Eliasson's 15-meter-long scent tunnel with over two thousand flower pots. The complex also houses the luxury Ritz-Carlton hotel, designed by French interior architect Andrée Putman. Autostadt functions as a communication platform between the Volkswagen Group and its customers, blending educational exhibits with leisure activities. It attracts millions of visitors annually, many of whom combine their visit with picking up new vehicles. Admission is charged during the day, but entry becomes free after 6 PM when pavilions close, except during special events. The site includes eight brand pavilions representing Volkswagen's major marques and features the Konzernforum, which presents the history of mobility and sustainability through interactive installations.
