The Amazon Biopark Zoo was founded in 1989 by Dr.

Jorge Arthur AarĂŁo Monteiro as a private zoological park licensed by IBAMA as a class C zoo.

It originated as Crocodilo Safari Zoo and has since developed into a large conservation and ecotourism area showcasing Amazonian ecosystems and wildlife.

Over time, it has expanded its facilities to include museums, botanical gardens, and extensive trails, becoming an important center for environmental education and research near Belém, Pará.
