Youtefa Bridge
Maluku and Papua Region
Youtefa Bridge, formerly known as Holtekamp Bridge, is a steel arch bridge spanning Youtefa Bay in Jayapura, Papua, Indonesia. It connects Holtekamp in Muara Tami District with Hamadi in Jayapura Selatan District, significantly reducing travel distance and time from Jayapura city center to Muara Tami District and the Skouw State Border Post at the Indonesia–Papua New Guinea border. The bridge's main span was uniquely fabricated off-site at the PAL Indonesia shipyard in Surabaya to enhance safety, welding quality, and construction speed. This 112.5-meter-long, 2000-ton steel span was transported over 3,200 kilometers by ship to Jayapura, where it was installed in two phases in early 2018. Officially inaugurated on October 28, 2019, by President Joko Widodo, Youtefa Bridge stands as a significant infrastructure achievement in Indonesia. It has been recognized by the Indonesian World Records Museum for the longest intact steel frame bridge installation and the longest-distance delivery of a complete steel frame bridge.
