Mang Den Pine Forest
Central Highlands Region
Mang Den Pine Forest is a tranquil natural feature located in the Central Highlands region of Vietnam, known for its vast pine-covered plateau and cool, fresh climate reminiscent of a highland resort. The area is part of Mang Den township, which was established on a sparsely populated plateau with origins in the M'nâm indigenous villages. The forest and surrounding landscape are characterized by basalt soil formed from ancient volcanic activity, contributing to the area's unique ecosystem. Historically, Mang Den was a militarized zone during the 20th century and later developed into an eco-tourism destination, often referred to as the "second Dalat" due to its climatic similarities. The Vietnamese government has designated Mang Den as a national ecotourism area, aiming to preserve its natural environment and promote sustainable tourism. Visitors can enjoy the peaceful pine forests, fresh air, and the harmonious blend of nature and local culture in this emerging highland retreat.
