Histoire
Most SNP was constructed between 1967 and 1972 based on a design by engineers Arpád Tesár and Jozef Zvara, and architects Jozef Lacko, Ladislav Kušnír, and Ivan Slameň.
At the time of its completion, it was the world's largest single-pylon suspension bridge and remains the largest of its kind with one pylon and one plane of suspension.
The bridge significantly improved transportation across the Danube, linking Bratislava's city center with the Petržalka district.
In 2001, it was declared the construction of the century in Slovakia in the category of bridge structures.
Since 2018, the bridge is a national cultural monument.
