Carl Larsson-gården, also known as Lilla Hyttnäs, is a historic cottage located in Sundborn, Dalarna, Sweden. It was the home of the renowned artists Carl and Karin Larsson from 1889 to 1912. The Larssons transformed this simple 1837-built cottage into an iconic Swedish home, blending National Romantic style with influences from the British Arts and Crafts movement and William Morris. Karin Larsson's innovative furniture designs and vibrant tapestries brought a fresh, abstract aesthetic that contrasted with the heavy bourgeois interiors of the time. Carl Larsson immortalized their home and family life in several illustrated books, making the house a symbol of Swedish interior design. The property includes the Miner's Cottage, relocated in 1912 to preserve unique 1742 ceiling and wall paintings. Since 1946, the house has been managed by the Larsson family association and serves as a museum with an adjacent exhibition hall, archive, and library. The garden was restored to its original appearance, and the site remains a major cultural attraction, recognized in 2025 as part of the Swedish cultural canon.
