1847

The origins of the Museum of Vojvodina date back to 1847 when the Serbian National Collection was founded to preserve national heritage.

1933

Initially connected with Matica Srpska in Pest, it opened to the public in 1933 as the Matica Srpska Museum in Novi Sad.

1947

In 1947, it became the Vojvodina Museum with a broader regional mandate.

1896

The museum moved into its current historic building, a former courthouse designed by architect Gyula Wagner in 1896, in 1974.

1992

In 1992, the Vojvodina Museum merged with the Historical Museum of Vojvodina to form the present-day Museum of Vojvodina.
