Histoire
The CR7 Museum was inaugurated on December 15, 2013, by Sporting CP in Funchal, Madeira, initially occupying a 400-square-meter space on Rua Imperatriz Dona Amélia.
In 2016, it relocated to a larger 1,400-square-meter site beneath the Pestana CR7 Hotel, a joint venture between Cristiano Ronaldo and the Pestana Group.
The museum's expansion coincided with the unveiling of a bronze statue of Ronaldo by Ricardo Velosa, which was moved closer to the new museum and hotel location.
The hotel's official opening on July 1, 2016, was attended by Ronaldo and notable figures, and the adjacent square was renamed Praça CR7 in his honor.
