Manufaktura
Łódzkie
Manufaktura is a prominent arts centre, shopping mall, and leisure complex located in the heart of Łódź, Poland. It occupies the revitalized site of a former textile factory complex founded by industrialist Izrael Poznański, reflecting the city's rich industrial heritage. Opened in 2006 after extensive renovation and construction, the complex spans 27 hectares and features a unique blend of restored 19th-century red brick factory buildings alongside contemporary glass and aluminum structures. Manufaktura includes the largest public square in Łódź, serving as a vibrant venue for cultural, sports, and community events. The revitalization project preserved historic architectural details while adapting the space for modern commercial and cultural use, making it a symbol of successful urban regeneration. It is one of Łódź's top tourist attractions and a hub for shopping, dining, entertainment, and art exhibitions. The complex also integrates green spaces with over 600 trees planted, enhancing the visitor experience. Its historical significance is linked to the industrial boom of Łódź and the legacy of Poznański, whose factory complex once encompassed weaving plants, spinning mills, warehouses, and workers' facilities. Today, Manufaktura stands as a testament to Łódź's transformation from an industrial center to a modern cultural destination.

After World War II, the complex was nationalized and became part of the Poltex textile enterprise.
The factory ceased operations in 1997 due to economic challenges.
In 1999, a French investment group acquired the site and initiated a large-scale revitalization project, culminating in Manufaktura's opening in 2006.
