The Garden of Dreams, also known as the Garden of Six Seasons, is a historic neo-classical garden located in the Kaiser Mahal area of Kathmandu, Nepal. Built in 1920 by landscape architect Kishore Narshingh for Field Marshal Kaiser Sumsher Rana, it features an elegant design inspired by Edwardian-era English gardens. The garden covers approximately 6,895 square meters and includes six pavilions, each dedicated to one of Nepal's six seasons, alongside fountains, pergolas, urns, an amphitheater, and ornamental ponds. After decades of neglect following Kaiser Sumsher's death in the 1960s, the garden was restored between 2000 and 2007 with support from the Austrian government, led by architect Götz HagmĂŒller. Today, it offers a tranquil oasis amid Kathmandu's urban bustle, combining historical charm with modern amenities. The garden's formal architecture contrasts with its naturalistic planting, creating a unique blend of order and organic beauty. It remains a popular tourist destination and cultural landmark, reflecting Nepal's heritage and cosmopolitan influences.
