Histoire
The building now housing the Sultan Azlan Shah Gallery was originally constructed from 1898 to 1903 as the residence of Sultan Idris Shah I.
The idea to create a gallery dedicated to Sultan Azlan Shah was approved by the Perak State Government in June 2001, with construction commencing later that year in November.
The gallery was completed in April 2003 and officially opened in December 2003, preserving the historical Ulu Palace and celebrating the Sultan's contributions to Perak and Malaysia.
