Histoire
According to tradition, the Shwemokhtaw Pagoda was founded in 305 BC by King Asoka of India.
Significant enhancements were made in 1115 AD by King Alaungsithu of Bagan, who raised the stupa's height to 11 meters.
Later, in 1263, the Mon King Samodogossa elevated it to 131 feet.
