Our Natural Park
Clervaux
Our Natural Park, located in the Ardennes region of north-eastern Luxembourg, spans approximately 420 square kilometers across seven municipalities including Clervaux and Vianden. The park features a diverse landscape of shale plateaus at around 500 meters altitude, dissected by forested valleys such as those of the Our and Clerve rivers. It is an important habitat for endangered species like the black stork, freshwater pearl mussel, wild cat, and hazel grouse. The park is recognized as an Important Bird Area due to its significant bird populations. Visitors can explore numerous hiking, cycling, and Nordic walking trails, as well as high ropes courses. Cultural attractions within the park include Vianden Castle, the Benedictine Abbey in Clervaux, and the world-renowned photography exhibition "The Family of Man." The park also forms part of a binational nature park shared with Germany and borders the High Fens – Eifel Nature Park. Despite challenges from forest monocultures, the park maintains extensive traditional tan hedges that shape its unique landscape. The visitor center is located in Hosingen, serving as a gateway for nature and cultural exploration.
