Reincke in Klaipėda, Švyturys Brewery began as a traditional German-style brewery.
In the 19th century, it merged with T.
Preuss's brewery, becoming the main brewery in the city, known for traditional Bock, Bavarian, and porter beers.
Despite near destruction in 1944 during World War II, it was rebuilt and renamed Švyturys in 1946.
The brewery modernized over the decades, introducing pasteurized beer in 1973 and developing the Märzen-style "Baltijos" beer in 1965.
After Lithuania regained independence, Švyturys became a joint-stock company and was partially acquired by Carlsberg in 1999, leading to further modernization and expansion.
The brewery merged with Utenos Brewery in 2001 and continues to innovate while honoring its heritage.
