Ak Orda Presidential Palace
Nur-Sultan
The Ak Orda Presidential Palace, located in Nur-Sultan (formerly Astana), serves as the official workplace of the President of Kazakhstan. Completed in 2004 by the Mabetex Group, the palace is an architectural symbol of Kazakhstan's modern statehood. Situated on the left bank of the Ishim River, the building stands 80 meters tall including its iconic golden dome topped with a spire. The dome is crowned by a golden statue featuring a sun with 32 rays and a soaring steppe eagle beneath it, symbolizing Kazakhstan’s heritage. The palace's interiors boast extensive use of gold and 21 types of marble, creating an opulent environment. The first floor contains the Grand Central Hall, Hall of Press Conferences, Gala Hall, and Winter Garden. The second floor houses administrative offices, while the third floor is dedicated to international events with several elaborately named halls including the Marble Hall, Golden Hall, Oval Hall, Oriental Hall shaped like a yurt, and the Hall of Extended Negotiations. The fourth floor features the Dome Hall, Government meeting hall, and the Library. Although it is the president's official workplace and houses the Presidential Administration staff, it is not a residential palace.
