Museum SAN was opened in 2013 initially as the Hansol Museum and renamed Museum SAN in 2014.

It was designed by Tadao Ando to create a 'garden museum in the sky' that integrates architecture with the natural mountainous environment of Oak Valley.

The museum is managed by the Hansol Cultural Foundation and is part of a resort owned by the Hansol Group.
