Histoire

900

The area around Salföld has been inhabited since the Hungarian conquest around 900 AD, originally part of Zala County before administrative changes placed it in Veszprém County.

Historically, the region was settled by Hungarian tribes and later came under the ownership of notable families such as the Sal family in the Árpád era.

The village and its surroundings suffered destruction during the Turkish occupation in the 16th century and were only resettled in the early 18th century after liberation.

Salföld thrived through agriculture and viticulture until the 20th century when collectivization under the socialist regime transformed local farming practices.
