Histoire
Pico Bonito National Park was officially established on January 1, 1987, to protect the unique biodiversity of the Cordillera Nombre de Dios region.
In 1993, the Pico Bonito National Park Foundation (FUPNAPIB) was legally formed to co-manage the park alongside the State Forest Administration.
Since then, the foundation has developed programs focusing on forest conservation, environmental education, and community engagement.
In 2005, FUPNAPIB partnered with international organizations to launch a carbon capture project aimed at combating climate change and promoting sustainable livelihoods through reforestation and agroforestry.
