Histoire
Rattray Park was constructed by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly as part of an initiative to restore Kumasi's status as the Garden City of West Africa.
It was officially opened on June 20, 2015, by then-President John Dramani Mahama alongside the Asantehene Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II and the Kumasi Mayor Kojo Bonsu.
The park was named after Captain Robert Sutherland Rattray, a Scottish colonial official who served as Assistant Colonial Secretary in the Gold Coast and clerk to the Legislative Assembly of Accra in 1919.
Since its inauguration, the park has become a key recreational and cultural landmark in Kumasi.
