Ebolowa Cathedral is the central church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Ebolowa, located in the city of Ebolowa in southern Cameroon. The diocese was originally established in 1991 as the Diocese of Ebolowa–Kribi, carved out from the Diocese of Sangmélima. In 2008, the diocese was divided, resulting in the creation of the Diocese of Ebolowa and the Diocese of Kribi, with Ebolowa Cathedral as the episcopal seat for the former. The cathedral serves as a vital spiritual and administrative center for Catholics in the region, reflecting the growth of the Catholic Church in Cameroon. It is led by Bishop Philippe Alain Mbarga since 2016, who was consecrated and installed on December 8 of that year. The cathedral's role extends beyond religious services, acting as a community hub for various ecclesiastical activities. Its significance is tied to the broader ecclesiastical province of Yaoundé, emphasizing its importance within the Catholic hierarchy in Cameroon.
