Histoire
The Sattel-Hochstuckli Suspension Bridge was inaugurated in July 2010 as part of the development to enhance the Mostelberg recreational area.
The project was initiated by Sattel-Hochstuckli AG to improve visitor numbers and was financially supported by sponsors, including the Raiffeisen banking group, after which the bridge is named.
Construction milestones included the installation of nine-meter-high supports in May 2010 and the placement of the bridge elements by crane in June.
Prior to opening, renowned tightrope walker Freddy Nock performed a balancing act on the cables in April 2010, marking a highlight in the bridge's history.
Since then, it has held the distinction of being one of the longest pedestrian suspension bridges in Europe at the time of its opening.
