Asparuhov Bridge is a significant road bridge in Varna, Bulgaria, connecting the Asparuhovo district with the rest of the city by crossing the canal that links Lake Varna to the Black Sea. Measuring 2.05 kilometers in length and standing 50 meters tall, it is one of Bulgaria's major bridges, designed to accommodate heavy traffic and withstand severe weather conditions. Constructed between 1973 and 1976, the bridge was opened ahead of schedule by Todor Zhivkov. Its steel continuous beam design with three spans, including a central 160-meter span, was engineered by Dimitar Dimitrov. The bridge has undergone reconstruction since the late 1990s to maintain safety and functionality. Beyond its transport role, Asparuhov Bridge has become a popular site for bungee jumping enthusiasts, featuring a dedicated platform for this extreme sport. Unfortunately, it is also known for being a site of numerous suicides over the years. Plans for future renovations include adding cycle tracks to improve accessibility and safety. The bridge is a vital infrastructure element for Varna, supporting around 10,000 vehicles daily and serving as the only land connection over the canal in this area.

Those interested in bungee jumping can seek local operators offering jumps from the designated platform. It is advisable to check for any ongoing construction or renovation works that may affect access. Purchasing tickets or permits for bungee jumping in advance is recommended. The bridge is accessible year-round, but spring and early autumn offer milder weather conditions for outdoor activities.
