The mosque features 20 domes and a 58-meter high minaret, the tallest in Bangladesh, constructed from white marble. Histoire
Construction of Guthia Mosque began on December 16, 2003, initiated by Sharifuddin Ahmed Santu, a local businessman and politician.
The mosque was completed in just over four years and inaugurated on October 20, 2006.
The design was inspired by a research trip to the Middle East by the architect and founder, resulting in a domical style mosque with Middle Eastern architectural influences.
Over time, the complex has grown to include a madrasa, orphanage, eidgah, and graveyard, becoming a landmark religious and cultural site in Barishal.
