The garden reflects Bannochie's dedication to horticulture, having introduced many ornamental plants to Barbados. Histoire
Andromeda Botanic Gardens was established in 1954 by Iris Bannochie on land owned by her family since 1740.
Bannochie, a celebrated horticulturist, developed the garden from her private collection into a public attraction.
The garden gained international recognition through Bannochie's participation in the Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea Flower Show in London, where she won several medals.
After her death in 1988, the Barbados National Trust took ownership, leasing it to Passiflora Ltd.
