Historie
Originally part of the French Governor's Palace garden in the late 19th century, Tao Đàn Park was known as Jardin de la Ville during colonial times.
It hosted several important institutions including the Philharmonic Society, Freemasonry, and the Saigon Sports Circle with facilities such as a football pitch and swimming pool.
After the French left, the Governor-General's Palace became the Presidential Palace, and the garden was renamed Tao Đàn Garden.
Following the reunification of Vietnam, the park was renamed Tao Đàn Cultural Park and expanded to include children's playgrounds and cultural facilities.
The Hùng King Memorial Temple was constructed in 1992 and renovated in 2011, highlighting the park's ongoing cultural importance.
