History
The area now known as Kemer Marina developed alongside the transformation of Kemer from a rural village called Eski Köy into a prominent tourist district in the late 20th century.
Originally part of the ancient Lycian city of Idyros, Kemer was historically protected by a 23-kilometer stone wall built between 1916 and 1917 to prevent flooding.
The name 'Kemer' refers to these protective walls.
Until the 1960s, the district was accessible only by boat.
