Guitars – The Museum, located in central Umeå, Sweden, is a specialized museum dedicated to electric guitars and related equipment primarily from the 1950s and 1960s. Founded in 2014, coinciding with Umeå's designation as European Capital of Culture, the museum houses a collection amassed by brothers Michael and Samuel Åhdén, featuring over 500 guitars including rare models like a 1958 Gibson Flying V, a 1960 Les Paul, and a 1950 Fender Broadcaster. The museum initially operated under Svenska Gitarrmuseet AB and transitioned to ownership by a nonprofit association in 2015, with ongoing support from Umeå Municipality. In 2019, it relocated to the attic of Umeå Folkets Hus, offering space for both permanent collections and temporary exhibitions such as the "Umeå – The European capital of hardcore 1989–2000". The museum has gained international attention for its extensive and unique collection, making it a significant cultural institution for guitar enthusiasts and music history.
