Over time, the building transitioned from a zamindar residence to government property and was used as the Chittagong Divisional Fire Service Office during Pakistan's rule. Although it was abandoned after the fire service office moved, the building is now preserved as a proposed Fire Service and Civil Defense Museum, highlighting its cultural and historical significance.

History
The zamindar house including the dance hall was built approximately 250 years ago by the grandfather of zamindar Sajjalela in Chandanpura.
After Sajjalela's death during British rule, his family migrated to India, and the property became government-owned following land acquisitions by Pakistan.
The building served as the Chittagong Divisional Fire Service Office during Pakistan's administration but was later abandoned when the fire service relocated to Chaumuhani.
The government declared the building abandoned in the 1990s and it is currently preserved as a proposed museum.
