History
Schloss Ort was first documented in 909 and again in 1053 as a water castle.
It was originally owned by the Lords of Ort from the 10th century until 1244.

In the early 17th century, during the Upper Austrian Peasant Wars, it was attacked and largely destroyed by rebellious peasants in 1626 but was rebuilt in 1634.
