Altyn Asyr Bazaar was inaugurated in 2011 with the participation of Turkmenistan's President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
It was constructed to replace the older Tolkuchka bazaar, embodying modern architectural elements inspired by traditional Turkmen carpet designs.
