The Church of the Holy Trinity, also known as the Cathedral Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God, is the principal and largest Orthodox church in Zaječar, Serbia. It serves as the central church of the Timok Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church and is recognized as an immovable cultural monument. Before 1830, Zaječar lacked an Orthodox temple until a small church was built that year with permission from the Ottoman local authority. In 1833, Prince Miloš Obrenović noted the neglected religious life in the region and initiated the establishment of the Timok Diocese, commissioning a new cathedral in Zaječar. Construction began in spring 1834 with his full support, ensuring resources and labor for rapid completion. The church was consecrated on December 23, 1834. Over time, it has undergone several renovations and expansions. Adjacent to the church stands a tall bell tower housing five bells cast in Kragujevac in 1899; four were gifts from the city of Zaječar and one from local merchant Jota Pašić. The church remains an active spiritual center with a dedicated clergy serving the community.
