歴史
The Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre originated from a resurgence of heritage aviation interest in Marlborough during the late 1990s, when enthusiasts formed the Marlborough Warbirds Association.
This led to the establishment of the New Zealand Aviation Museum Trust in 1997 to make the aircraft accessible to the public and promote aviation in the region.
The first stage of the centre, including the 'Knights of the Sky' exhibition, opened in December 2006.
Subsequent expansions included the addition of a narrow-gauge railway line in 2015 and the opening of Stage Two in 2016.
