History
The Government Complex Sejong was initiated following the 2005 enactment of a special law to develop an administrative city for decentralization and balanced growth.
Construction began in December 2008, with the complex officially named and opened in 2012.
The first phase of relocating central government agencies was completed by the end of 2012, followed by additional phases in 2013 and 2014, gradually transferring various ministries and offices from the Seoul metropolitan area.
