歴史
The land originally hosted the Heidenhof Wildlife Park, named after a chapel built in 1350.
After the zoo closed in 1972 due to a storm, Hans-Jürgen Tiemann purchased the site and opened Heide Park in 1978 with six rides.
The park expanded steadily, adding themed areas such as Heide-Dorf in 1988 and a Dutch section in the late 1990s.
In 2001, the park opened Colossos, then the world's steepest wooden roller coaster.
Ownership changed hands from the Tiemann family to the Tussauds Group in 2001 and later to Merlin Entertainments in 2007.
The park evolved into a themed park with new areas like Transilvanien and Wild Wild West, and introduced Germany's first wing coaster, Flug der Dämonen, in 2014.
Several older areas were closed or repurposed over time to make way for new attractions and accommodations.
