Polyterrasse is a prominent terrace located in Zurich, Switzerland, situated above the main building of ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology). It offers visitors panoramic views of the city and is closely linked to the Polybahn funicular, which connects the terrace with Central square in the city. The terrace is near the Natural History Museum, enhancing its cultural significance. The site is notable for its connection to the ETH Zurich, formerly known as Eidgenössisches Polytechnikum, from which the Polybahn derives its name. The terrace is a popular spot for both locals and tourists to enjoy views and access to the university campus. The Polybahn funicular, owned by UBS AG and operated by the municipal transport company Verkehrsbetriebe Zürich, provides a historic and convenient means to reach the terrace from the city center. The funicular itself is a historic transportation line, originally opened in 1889, making the Polyterrasse not only a viewpoint but also a place of historical and technological interest.
