History
The Clube do Choro de Brasília was founded on September 9, 1977, following the influence of Jacob do Bandolim, who held musical gatherings in Brasília in 1967.
Initially located in the cloakroom of the Ulysses Guimarães Convention Center, the club flourished but fell into decline during the 1980s due to poor infrastructure and theft issues.
In 1993, a new board led revitalization efforts, culminating in a renovated space by 1997.
A new building designed by Oscar Niemeyer was inaugurated in 2011, establishing the Espaço Cultural do Choro as its permanent home.
In 2008, the club was recognized as intangible heritage of Brasília, cementing its cultural importance.
