歴史
The land now known as Kings Park was originally called Mooro Katta and Kaarta Gar-up by the Noongar people, serving as an important ceremonial and hunting ground.
European settlers recognized the site's significance in the 19th century; in 1871, 175 hectares were set aside as a public reserve, later expanded to over 400 hectares by 1897.
Officially opened as Perth Park in 1895, it was renamed King's Park in 1901 to honor the ascension of King Edward VII and royal visits.
Throughout its history, the park has been protected from development, notably when a proposed Olympic-size swimming pool was prevented by community action in 1956.
Since 1999, it has been administered by the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority, ensuring its conservation and public accessibility.
